What are grinding strips?
Grinding strips are transparent, flexible strips that you hang as a screen around a grinding workspace, to protect people and materials against sparks and noise. They catch grinding sparks, dampen the noise and keep surrounding materials and people protected, while visibility and passage remain fully intact.
Unlike a solid grinding screen, grinding strips block neither light nor walking space. A forklift truck or pallet truck simply drives through, the strips move along and then fall back into place by themselves. That makes them not only safe but also practical in busy workshops where the production process simply has to keep going. Workspaces where a fixed, closed wall is preferred are often fitted with grinding curtains.
Why various companies are better off choosing grinding strips
Many companies know that products such as welding blankets exist to catch sparks at point locations. What is less well known: with grinding strips, you can set up a complete space. A full screening wall that moves along, is transparent and does not take away the light. That is a fundamentally different level of protection.

Which sizes and thicknesses are available?
Cepro grinding strips are available in three widths, with corresponding thicknesses:
200 mm wide, 2 mm thick
300 mm wide, 2 or 3 mm thick
400 mm wide, 4 mm thick
The strips are always colourless and transparent. This way, the view of the workspace remains fully intact, even when the screen is closed. That is not only pleasant for the employee themselves, but also important for supervision by managers, safety coordinators or instructors.
Noise reduction and fire safety during grinding work
During grinding work, noise is a serious problem. Not only for the grinder themselves, but for everyone nearby. The thicker Cepro grinding strips have a sound-insulating function that noticeably lowers the ambient noise in the rest of the workshop. That contributes directly to a more pleasant working environment and fewer complaints on the work floor.
In terms of fire safety, the grinding strips are self-extinguishing to the DIN 4102 standard and B2 certified. They are thereby approved for use in various workshop environments. Easy hanging with the Cepro clip system
Mounting grinding strips requires no tools or special provisions. Cepro works with a patented system of plastic hanging clips with which you easily hang the strips around a standard one-inch-thick tube with a diameter of 33.7 mm. The clips are pendulum-shaped: when a person, forklift truck or pallet truck drives through the screen, the strips move along and then spring back automatically to their original position. No loose strips, no hassle, no extra fixing materials. For more complex situations, Cepro also offers special made-to-measure suspensions.
